Resolution for Wilson County Republican Party

Resolution for Wilson County Republican Party

Policy for standard messaging

Adopted at the Wilson County Republican Convention

March 17, 2026

Whereas the Wilson City Council created controversy in Wilson County by changing meeting formats and circulating an official email that asked for holding discussions to consider implementing sanctuary style policies.

The Wilson County Republican Party resolves to meet this controversy by adopting four main objectives of:

·        Bringing unity to the community through Party effort. We will say and do things that bring us together and turn divisive arguments into unifying conversations. We will endeavor to listen and find common ground.

·        Being transparent, open, and honest. We will say, do, and write things for public consumption and remember the internet is forever. We will be mindful of posts, likes, and shares that may reflect on the Party message. Our messaging will be consistent and on point without deviating into unrelated subjects. We will be confident that we are, who we say are, and that we do not hide anything.

·        Promoting a goal of economic prosperity for the city, county, and all our citizens. We will support all opportunities of attracting industry, jobs which bring higher wages, better standards of living, and housing that is affordable at the individual level. And finally, a tax structure that fits the community rather than growing to fit the government.

·        Supporting law enforcement at every level and will trust their training, leadership, and decisions based on training, while enforcing current laws passed down by our local, state and federal legislators.

Be it further resolved that our number ONE goal is to elect Republicans. We do that by motivating voters to go to the polls, inspiring involvement, and being the example of the Republican Party and Conservative values.
